The Gramercy Park Collection from Lane
Home Furnishings was named for the elegant park in New York City that was
first established in the mid-1800's.
The property was
originally owned by Peter Stuyvesant and NYC mayor James Duane before
lawyer-developer Samuel Ruggles snapped it up in 1831. Gramercy was a
popular place for an evening stroll, and was soon surrounded by
lovely townhouses and brownstones.
Today, only residents of the
surrounding Gramercy buildings are granted the coveted golden keys to
the park area; visitors must sneak peaks through the cast iron bars.
Gramercy is one of the prettiest parks in town and one of the most
exclusive residential neighborhoods in Manhattan.
Traditional
and Neoclassical elements prevail in this magnificent furniture
collection and Gramercy Park complements many different styles of
decor. The furniture is both fresh and inviting. Its harmonious
balance of simple, pure lines and strong traditional elements make
this a fine choice for all tastes.
The Gramercy Collection is
beautifully crafted furniture made from select Hardwood solids and
Cherry veneers. The lightly distressed Warm Merlot finish is
complemented by the
highly attractive brushed silver hardware.
